{"id":1230,"date":"2013-11-12T16:45:43","date_gmt":"2013-11-12T20:45:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/admissions.me.holycross.edu\/?p=1230"},"modified":"2013-11-12T16:45:43","modified_gmt":"2013-11-12T20:45:43","slug":"what-to-do-in-the-woo-part-i","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.holycross.edu\/admissions\/2013\/11\/12\/what-to-do-in-the-woo-part-i\/","title":{"rendered":"What to do in The Woo, Part I"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.holycross.edu\/admissions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/27\/2009\/11\/JuliaSanders.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-411 alignleft\" alt=\"JuliaSanders\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.holycross.edu\/admissions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/27\/2009\/11\/JuliaSanders.jpg\" width=\"105\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>As a Worcester native, and a representative of the Holy Cross admissions office, I spend a lot of time excitedly talking to prospective students about the city affectionately nicknamed \u201cthe Woo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There are many things that make Worcester an <a href=\"http:\/\/admissions.me.holycross.edu\/2009\/08\/28\/worcester-an-ideal-college-town\">ideal college town<\/a> and, over the next few months, I\u2019d like to highlight a few of my favorites.\u00a0 I hope this will benefit current Holy Cross students and future Crusaders alike.<\/p>\n<p>So, without further ado, I give you the best of Worcester, installment one:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Question:\u00a0 What should I do on a Saturday afternoon when there isn\u2019t a football game?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Answer:<\/b>\u00a0 \u201cWAM and Wooberry\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Start the day by taking the <a href=\"http:\/\/offices.holycross.edu\/sites\/all\/modules\/tinytinymce\/tinymce\/jscripts\/tiny_mce\/plugins\/filemanager\/files\/transportation\/Shuttle_Schedule\/Holy_Cross_InterCampushuttle_2013_14.pdf\">Consortium Shuttle<\/a> to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.worcesterart.org\">Worcester Art Museum<\/a>.\u00a0 I love this museum because it is doable in one afternoon. \u00a0It\u2019s a beautiful space that has a little of everything:\u00a0 from ancient works to Van Gogh to Warhol.\u00a0 It\u2019s also free with your Holy Cross ID card.\u00a0 Fun Fact:\u00a0 A few scenes from David O.
