{"id":1250,"date":"2013-12-04T17:11:23","date_gmt":"2013-12-04T21:11:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/admissions.me.holycross.edu\/?p=1250"},"modified":"2013-12-04T17:11:23","modified_gmt":"2013-12-04T21:11:23","slug":"1250","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.holycross.edu\/admissions\/2013\/12\/04\/1250\/","title":{"rendered":"Our Calling"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.holycross.edu\/admissions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/27\/2009\/09\/6a00e54ed0db8e8833010536f8f30b970b-800wi.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-345 alignleft\" alt=\"6a00e54ed0db8e8833010536f8f30b970b-800wi\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.holycross.edu\/admissions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/27\/2009\/09\/6a00e54ed0db8e8833010536f8f30b970b-800wi.jpg\" width=\"104\" height=\"155\" \/><\/a>It is so easy to get lost in all the mundane details of any job, and working in college admissions is no different.\u00a0 E-mail, spreadsheets, and voicemails \u00a0all blur into one long day of tasks.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s the point of all this?\u00a0 <i>Quo vadimus?<\/i>\u00a0 &#8212; Where are we going?<\/p>\n<p>And then you get the opportunity to call an Early Decision applicant and inform her that the committee has voted to admit her to the class of 2018.<\/p>\n<p>&gt;&gt;<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/twitpic.com\/dnl167\">WATCH THE VIDEO HERE<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re coming to Holy Cross,\u201d I repeated, as she stammered,\u00a0 in shock, unable to make sense of the exciting news I was trying to deliver.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">I\u2019m<\/span> going to Holy Cross?\u201d she asked, choking back tears.<\/p>\n<p>And that was it \u2013 in that small moment, I found the reason for all those e-mails and spreadsheets \u2013 all those days at work. She\u2019s heading to Holy Cross.
