{"id":260,"date":"2009-04-21T08:39:26","date_gmt":"2009-04-21T12:39:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/admissions.me.holycross.edu\/?p=260"},"modified":"2009-04-21T08:39:26","modified_gmt":"2009-04-21T12:39:26","slug":"why-i-love-holy-cross-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.holycross.edu\/admissions\/2009\/04\/21\/why-i-love-holy-cross-4\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cWhy I love Holy Cross\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-261\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.holycross.edu\/admissions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/27\/2009\/04\/lauren-t.jpg\" alt=\"lauren-t\" width=\"104\" height=\"155\" \/>We know you have a big decision to make.\u00a0 Over the next few weeks, members of the Holy Cross community will share their thoughts on what makes Holy Cross so special.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>As a newcomer to the Holy Cross community, I am often asked \u201cWhy Holy Cross?\u201d The thing I love the most about Holy Cross is quite simple:\u00a0 We have motivated, interesting students.<\/p>\n<p>From my interactions with various students on campus, I have come to find that our students have an amazingly wide variety of interests.\u00a0 Each individual pursues their passions fiercely, whatever they may be.\u00a0 I have met the Music\/Premed major who is also the president of the ballroom dance team and volunteers through SPUD (Student Programs for Urban Development). I have met the Studio Art major who hosts students through Admissions Office, but also participates in one of the most spirited organizations on campus, the Purple Key Society. I have met the undeclared first year student who is part of Oxfam America, Best Buddies, plays on the Women\u2019s Rugby team, and is a Eucharistic minister.\u00a0 No matter what a student\u2019s interest might be, they are encouraged to pursue it during their four short years here.\u00a0 And although I was not a student here during my undergraduate years, I have come to love this campus and its students as if it were my very own.<\/p>\n<p>Lauren D.
