{"id":501,"date":"2010-02-03T13:37:34","date_gmt":"2010-02-03T17:37:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/admissions.me.holycross.edu\/?p=501"},"modified":"2010-02-03T13:37:34","modified_gmt":"2010-02-03T17:37:34","slug":"visiting-holy-cross-in-february","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.holycross.edu\/admissions\/2010\/02\/03\/visiting-holy-cross-in-february\/","title":{"rendered":"Visiting Holy Cross in February"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-427\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.holycross.edu\/admissions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/27\/2009\/11\/TranKim-Senior.BLOG2.jpg\" alt=\"TranKim-Senior.BLOG2\" width=\"105\" height=\"150\" \/>When it comes to the college application process, it\u2019s never too early to start.\u00a0 At this point as a junior or younger in high school, you may not know exactly what you want in a college, \u00a0and that\u2019s perfectly OK.\u00a0 You should treat this period as your window shopping stage where you\u2019re simply going out and checking out a whole bunch of different things to see what you absolutely do NOT like and what you kind of like or really like.\u00a0 The college tour is the best way to window shop for colleges.\u00a0 It\u2019s quick and gives you a great overview of what the college is all about.\u00a0 From there you can hopefully get a sense of whether you prefer a big school or a smaller school;\u00a0\u00a0a school right in the city or\u00a0one\u00a0in a more remote area.\u00a0 You should check out all\u00a0the schools you can so that\u00a0you can get\u00a0a better sense of what type of school best matches who you are.<\/p>\n<p>With that said, I invite you to come visit Holy Cross to see if we might be good match for you.\u00a0 Now is a great time to start visiting our campus and taking tours because it\u2019s the down season for college visitors so you\u2019ll be getting some personal one-on-one time with our tour guides.\u00a0 Even if you and your family members are the only group to come for a tour, a tour guide will take you out and show you around.\u00a0 Students are also on campus at this time so you get to see what the vibe is like and get a better sense\u00a0of the Holy Cross culture.\u00a0 Summer is a wonderful time to see college campuses as well, but you won\u2019t be able to see many students during that time.\u00a0 February break\u00a0 (Feb 15th -19th) is coming up in a couple of weeks so be sure to set some aside to start scouting for colleges.\u00a0 We are open for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.holycross.edu\/admissions\/visit\/tours\/\">tours and information sessions<\/a> all week long.\u00a0\u00a0 I should warn you that we do get busier than usual during this week because so many students do take advantage of that break so you won\u2019t be able to get the one-on-one experience as much.\u00a0 But the advantage of that is you\u2019ll get to be in wonderful company with many other prospective students about to embark on the same and hopefully exciting journey as you.\u00a0 Who knows, you might even meet a future classmate!<\/p>\n<p>Just as a reminder, tours are available every day in the spring (<em>exceptions are noted on\u00a0the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.holycross.edu\/admissions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">admissions website<\/a>)<\/em>\u00a0at 10 AM, 12 noon, 2\u00a0PM and 3\u00a0PM and during the week of February 15-19, information sessions will be available at 11:15.\u00a0 If we can help you with your travel plans, please don\u2019t hesitate to give us a call at 508-793-2443.\u00a0 Don\u2019t forget your walking shoes!<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Tran Kim-Senior<br \/>\nAssistant Director of Admissions<br \/>\nCoordinator of Multicultural Recruitment<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When it comes to the college application process, it\u2019s never too early to start.\u00a0 At this point as a junior or younger in high school, you may not know exactly what you want in a college, \u00a0and that\u2019s perfectly OK.\u00a0 You should treat this period as your window shopping stage where you\u2019re simply going out &hellip;
