{"id":62,"date":"2007-11-29T08:54:00","date_gmt":"2007-11-29T12:54:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/admissions.me.holycross.edu\/2007\/11\/29\/procrastination-your-%e2%80%9cfrenemy%e2%80%9d\/"},"modified":"2007-11-29T08:54:00","modified_gmt":"2007-11-29T12:54:00","slug":"procrastination-your-frenemy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.holycross.edu\/admissions\/2007\/11\/29\/procrastination-your-frenemy\/","title":{"rendered":"Procrastination&#8211;Your \u201cFrenemy\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/me.holycross.edu\/blogimages\/kelli.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Kelli\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Procrastination is not your friend, though I\u2019m sure for many of you it is whispering around your consciousness these days.\u00a0 \u201cWhy do something today that you can put off till tomorrow?\u201d\u00a0 \u201cIt\u2019s the holiday season and there are so many more interesting things than college application stuff that you could be doing.\u201d \u201cReally, you do your best work at the last minute.\u201d\u00a0 It would be very easy to give in to the college process fatigue that is probably assailing you right about now.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t listen.\u00a0 Ignore the temptation.\u00a0 We\u2019re in the homestretch and now is not the time to falter.\u00a0 Whether you got out of the gate fast or are slow starter, it\u2019s time to throw it into fifth gear and finish up all the things left unchecked on your to do list.\u00a0 Finish up that final revision of your college essay.\u00a0 Schedule that interview.\u00a0 Follow up on those teacher recommendations.\u00a0 Click \u201csend\u201d on that application.<\/p>\n<p>Procrastination is truly not your friend.\u00a0 At best it is a \u201cfrenemy\u201d (an enemy disguised as a friend).\u00a0 Don\u2019t let it tempt you into putting yourself between a rock and a day-before-the-deadline-last-minute-allnighter-application scramble.\u00a0 Real friends don\u2019t that to each other.
