We had a great turn out at Monday night\u2019s Summer Business Program<\/a> Info Session, but if you missed it here\u2019s what you should know.<\/p>\n

What you can expect to gain from SBP – Our Mission<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Functional and personal business skills \u2013\u00a0 your foot in the door to Wall Street and finance<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Starting and managing a business \u2013 business plans, marketing, & growing your business<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Team project\u00a0 \u2013 practically applying what you are learning during the program<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Visit to local business \u2013 seeing business in action in central, MA<\/p>\n

Program Logistics<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Open to approximately 30 students<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Housing in either Alumni or Carlin residence halls<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Taught by alumni and some faculty \u2013 real world teachers who work in the business everyday<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Daily interactive classes in the new science building, 9-12, 1-4 PM<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Weekends free<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Work on team project outside of class \u2013 your teams will meet in your free time<\/p>\n

Team Project break down:<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 6 teams @ 5 per team \u2013 less or more depending on our applicant pool<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 1 executive mentor per team \u2013 a business executive to guide your project<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Team Exec decides project\/role of team \u2013 working to real expectations and deadlines set by Exec<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 1 meeting per week with your Team Executive (face-to-face or phone)<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Dry run June 23<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Team presentations June 24 \u2013 CASH PRIZE to winners<\/p>\n
