{"id":1182,"date":"2019-09-07T09:18:44","date_gmt":"2019-09-07T13:18:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/me.business.holycross.edu\/?p=1182"},"modified":"2019-09-07T09:18:44","modified_gmt":"2019-09-07T13:18:44","slug":"ciocca-center-provides-multiple-pathways-to-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.holycross.edu\/business\/2019\/09\/07\/ciocca-center-provides-multiple-pathways-to-business\/","title":{"rendered":"Ciocca Center Provides Multiple Pathways to Business"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"subheading\">The Ciocca Center for Business, Ethics, and Society takes business programs at Holy Cross to the next level giving students multiple pathways to study business at the College. \u201cBefore, we emphasized that students could \u2018major in anything, succeed in business,\u2019 but we only offered the one pathway, the co-curricular certificate of readiness through COES,\u201d says <a href=\"https:\/\/www.holycross.edu\/academics\/programs\/economics-and-accounting\/david-kw-chu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">David Chu<\/span><\/a>, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.holycross.edu\/academics\/ciocca-center-business-ethics-and-society\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Ciocca Center for Business, Ethics, and Society\u2019s<\/span><\/a> director of certificate programs and prebusiness advisor. \u201cNow, we are going to give students multiple pathways to learn about business.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"subheading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.holycross.edu\/business\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/05\/ciocca12.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1183\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.holycross.edu\/business\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/05\/ciocca12.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"612\" height=\"451\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In addition to the technical skill building Certificate in Business Fundamentals and Certificate in Entrepreneurship, the College has recently developed a new interdisciplinary minor in <span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff\" href=\"https:\/\/www.holycross.edu\/academics\/programs\/business-ethics-and-society\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">business, ethics, and society.<\/a><\/span> The minor draws on a range of liberal arts disciplines to help students develop historical, economic, political and philosophical perspectives on the world of business, while exploring overarching questions about the role of business in a just society.
