Students had two opportunities during summer 2020 to explore the step-by-step process of starting a business and the strength of businesses that develop strategies and innovate.\u00a0&#8220;Our Entrepreneurship\u00a0workshop starts where every business should start: with building you as a leader and cultivating your skillset,&#8221; shares Ja-Na\u00e9 Duane, entrepreneur-in-residence at Holy Cross.\u00a0 &#8220;From there, we dive into the factors that impact starting a business and showcase stories of businesses to illustrate that there is no one way to start or grow a business.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re interested in pursuing the\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff\" href=\"https:\/\/www.holycross.edu\/academics\/ciocca-center-business-ethics-and-society\/business-certificate-programs\/certificate-entrepreneurship\">Certificate in Entrepreneurship,<\/a>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #333333\">both of the following workshops count so consider registering for a future offering!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.holycross.edu\/academics\/ciocca-center-business-ethics-and-society\/opportunities\/startup-weeks\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Business Strategy &amp; Innovation<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>47 students registered to explore\u00a0a practical approach to strategy and innovation during the month of June. Through practical applications and case studies, they developed the ability to think strategically through the lens of entrepreneurship and innovate in a global context. Working directly with the entrepreneur-in-residence, Prof. Ja-Nae Duane, provided virtual exposure to the world of business.<\/p>\n<p>This workshop will be offered again over winter break and counts towards the <span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff\" href=\"https:\/\/www.holycross.edu\/academics\/ciocca-center-business-ethics-and-society\/business-certificate-programs\/certificate-entrepreneurship\">Certificate in Entrepreneurship<\/a><\/span>. Mark your calendar for\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">January 19 &#8211; 21, 2021\u00a0 and\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"font-size: 1rem\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSdvC6SHJHwxcZMIjmgJE0tJZBPIdWb1ef7F8cn8zs6FyzRFFA\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">register for the virtual Business Strategy &amp; Innovation Workshop<\/span>.<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff\" href=\"https:\/\/www.holycross.edu\/academics\/ciocca-center-business-ethics-and-society\/opportunities\/startup-weeks\">Entrepreneurship Fundamentals Workshop<\/a><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #333333\">9 students registered for the pilot three-day virtual\u00a0workshop exploring the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and the skills associated with starting and running a business. Over the course of this workshop at the end of August, they learned the elements needed to start a business, explored startups and their approaches.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This workshop will be offered again over winter break and counts towards the <span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff\" href=\"https:\/\/www.holycross.edu\/academics\/ciocca-center-business-ethics-and-society\/business-certificate-programs\/certificate-entrepreneurship\">Certificate in Entrepreneurship<\/a><\/span>.
