During the last week of winter break, Holy Cross students made early progress on career preparation through four concurrent hands-on workshops\u00a0hosted by the\u00a0Ciocca Center<\/strong>. With classes still on hold, their turnout reflected a real drive to sharpen their practical skills, build confidence, and explore different industries.<\/p>\n

Corporate Finance & Banking Workshop (Boston)<\/h2>\n

37 students<\/strong>\u00a0participated in a two-day\u00a0Corporate Finance & Banking Workshop\u00a0in Boston.\u00a0They walked through the doors of\u00a0Bank of America<\/strong>,\u00a0Fidelity<\/strong>,\u00a0JP Morgan<\/strong>, and\u00a0Natixis<\/strong>,\u00a0meeting alumni and getting\u00a0a\u00a0firsthand look at\u00a0how these\u00a0firms work. The group picked up insights into entry-level\u00a0roles\u00a0and\u00a0learned what it takes\u00a0to\u00a0land\u00a0internships\u00a0or break into\u00a0the field.<\/p>\n

A highlight of the workshop was the annual finance networking reception hosted by\u00a0Matt Kane \u201999 of Webster Bank<\/strong>, giving students an opportunity to expand their networks and hear candid career advice from alumni.<\/p>\n

Marketing Communication & Sales Workshop (On Campus)<\/h2>\n

Back on campus,\u00a048<\/b>\u00a0students<\/strong>\u00a0took part in a two-day\u00a0Marketing Communications and Sales Workshop.<\/b>\u00a0Students learned about advertising and branding\u00a0with\u00a0Courtney Quinn \u201996<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Katie Macdonald \u201907<\/strong>, digital marketing\u00a0with\u00a0Catherine Cote \u201918<\/strong>,\u00a0public relations\u00a0with\u00a0John Hartz \u201998<\/strong>, and sales\u00a0with\u00a0Tyler Dooley \u201917<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Brittany Fantau \u201915<\/strong>. To conlcude the workshop, students put their new skills to the test with\u00a0a\u00a0PepsiCo<\/b>\u00a0project,\u00a0pitching their ideas\u00a0to alumni judges\u00a0Kristen<\/b>\u00a0Buonassissi Mauthe \u201912<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0Ella Schiffmann \u201925<\/b>. The judges offered direct\u00a0feedback\u00a0on strategy, clarity, and\u00a0presentation.<\/p>\n

Interview Prep Workshop (On Campus)<\/h2>\n

79 students<\/strong>\u00a0built interview confidence during the\u00a0Interview Prep Workshop. To kick us off,\u00a0Mimi Doherty \u201902<\/strong>\u00a0led an in-depth coaching and practice session that helped students translate experience into clear, results-oriented responses.\u00a0Everyone showed up\u00a0with a \u201cdream job\u201d\u00a0in mind\u00a0and practiced\u00a0explaining exactly\u00a0why they\u2019d be\u00a0a\u00a0great fit.<\/p>\n

On Friday,\u00a0Holy Cross Career Development<\/strong>\u00a0staff discussed the value of a\u00a0Jesuit liberal arts education and practiced interview strategies\u00a0before handing the mic off to career coach\u00a0Jeremy Hill<\/strong>\u00a0for some closing remarks.\u00a0Students left with\u00a0sharper stories\u00a0and\u00a0concrete prep\u00a0strategies\u00a0they could\u00a0use\u00a0going into recruiting season.<\/p>\n

Fullbridge Professional Edge<\/h2>\n

42 students<\/strong>\u00a0participated in the four-day\u00a0Fullbridge Professional Edge\u00a0program strengthening professional communication through effective public speaking, body language, and storytelling, supported by AI-informed feedback. The program concluded in a pitch competition focused on solutions for a greener future.<\/p>\n
