{"id":91,"date":"2007-09-10T14:36:00","date_gmt":"2007-09-10T18:36:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cmcurr11.me.holycross.edu\/2007\/09\/10\/september-10-2007\/"},"modified":"2007-09-10T14:36:00","modified_gmt":"2007-09-10T18:36:00","slug":"september-10-2007","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.holycross.edu\/cmcurr11\/2007\/09\/10\/september-10-2007\/","title":{"rendered":"September 10, 2007"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There\u2019s one phrase that I absolutely hate admitting, but I constantly find myself saying quite often here &#8211; \u201cMy parents were right.\u201d From my mother\u2019s reminding me to eat vegetables to my father\u2019s advice of turning off the lights when I leave the dorm room, I find myself calling my parents and letting them know that, once again, they were right.<\/p>\n<p>But there\u2019s one area where they truly have been right, and it\u2019s definitely helped me in my transition to college. Last Christmas, my dad gave me a planner and told me to start using it back then because time management would be absolutely necessary in college. He was really right about that one.<\/p>\n<p>Between clubs, classes, homework, preparing for classes, tests, quizzes, and somehow finding time to eat and socialize, time management is really critical in college life. There are times that I just want to stop translating \u201c<em>De Officiis<\/em>\u201d for Latin class or stop paraphrasing \u201cThe Groundhog\u201d for my CRAW class and just waste some time away on Facebook, but I\u2019ve learned within my first weeks here that there is a time for fun stuff. The adjustment to college isn\u2019t all that difficult, as long as time management is a priority. <\/p>\n<p>As much as I hate admitting it, my parents were right.
