Segovia

Though we were unfortunately unable to go on our trip to Segovia, we were able to do many other fun things that made our time together during that day so worthwhile! I’d say the highlight of the things that we did instead of going to Segovia was for sure the cooking class that we all attended. I was not expecting to do this activity so I was quite surprised when Profe Lokos told us that we would be going. I had been to one cooking class once in Boston before and it was a lot of fun so I had good expectations coming into the class. I ended up not being disappointed at all as our teacher for the class was really energetic, fun and interesting and it was a really good time trying to cook the different dishes with everyone together.

We learned how to make Tortilla de patatas, Gazpacho, Paella de mariscos, and tarta de Santiago. This was the coolest part because they are all delicious foods and in my opinion, they were not that hard to make with the paella being the most complicated of the three but still very doable in my opinion. We were also fortunate enough to get the recipes so we can have them for future reference. I think the best part of this was not only cooking the food together but also sitting all together around the table and sharing what we made together followed by the tarta for dessert. This activity, similar to the flamenco workshop, was one of the mini excursions that enriched this trip and made it much more fun. I’m really happy that we were able to do this and I will definitely be making these foods back at home in the future!
